Technical Support Engineer

Position Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Entry-Level Support Engineer to join our team in China (Shanghai / Guangzhou). The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in programming (C, C++, scripting languages such as JavaScript and Python) and excellent communication skills in both English and Mandarin. This role involves providing technical support to customers, troubleshooting issues in the field, and collaborating with the engineering team to ensure high-quality solutions. Since, Fiery does not have a registered entity in China, this role will be employed through a local Professional Employer Organization.
Experience: 1-4 years of relevant experience
Education Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first-line technical support to customers, both remotely and on-site
- Troubleshoot and resolve software, hardware, and integration issues in the field
- Assist customers with product setup, configuration, and integration
- Write and maintain scripts/tools to support integration tasks
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams to reproduce, analyze, and resolve customer-reported issues
- Document solutions, best practices, and troubleshooting guides for customer and internal use
- Communicate effectively with global teams and customers in both English and Mandarin
Skills: (Technical & Behavioural)
- Proficiency in C and C++, with familiarity in scripting languages such as JavaScript and Python
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills in English and Mandarin (both written and verbal)
- Ability to work independently and travel to customer sites when required
- Customer-focused mindset and ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments
- Knowledge of the digital printing industry, Fiery servers/workflow solutions, or OEM print environments is a strong advantage
- Behavioural Skills: Should be confident, self-driven with initiative, have strong stakeholder management, accountability, strategic orientation, take initiative, learnability, strong decision-making capabilities
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):
- Experience in customer-facing technical support or field service
- Basic knowledge of operating systems (Linux/Windows)
- Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols
