Job Description

We're looking for a motivated new graduate who wants to start their career in systems-level programming on Windows and Linux. You'll work with experienced engineers to build and maintain software for the Fiery Digital Front End (DFE). This role suits someone who likes knowing how things work under the hood, enjoys debugging, and wants to grow into a strong systems engineer. You'll also use modern AI-assisted development tools to work more productively.

Role and responsibilities:

  • Help design, develop and maintain systems-level software on Windows and Linux, with guidance from senior engineers
  • Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code in C, C++ and Python
  • Build and improve features, with attention to performance, reliability and portability across platforms
  • Investigate and fix bugs, including memory and concurrency issues, and grow your debugging skills along the way
  • Use AI tools responsibly to speed up coding, testing, debugging and documentation, while checking their output for correctness and security
  • Work with teammates across functions, and take on more ownership of components as you grow

Job Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field

Experience: 0–1 years (new graduates welcome)

Skills: (Technical & Behavioral skills)

  • Solid foundation in C/C++ from coursework, projects or internships, plus working knowledge of Python
  • Understanding of core computer science concepts: data structures, algorithms and operating systems (processes, threads, memory management, synchronization)
  • Experience developing on Windows or Linux (both is a plus)
  • Some experience using a debugger (e.g., GDB, Visual Studio Debugger or WinDbg)
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude
  • Behavioral: Collaborative team player and a clear communicator, with strong ownership, problem-solving, adaptability, and attention to detail

Desirable but not mandatory:

  • Internship, research or personal project experience involving systems programming, operating systems or networking
  • Comfort with the command line and scripting (Bash, PowerShell)
  • Familiarity with security basics, such as secure coding practices or encryption concepts
  • Experience with Git and CI/CD tools

What’s in it for you?

  • Opportunity to work on software that drives high-volume production printers used worldwide
  • Mentorship from experienced systems engineers
  • Flexible, inclusive, collaborative culture where your ideas are heard
  • Structured onboarding and hands-on learning on real production software across Windows and Linux
  • Opportunities to grow into broader ownership and technical leadership
