Role and Responsibilities
As a Principal Software Engineer – Windows Platform / OS Development, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and enhancing Windows platform and OS components for Fiery products. You will lead the architecture, development, and optimization of system-level software, drive technical decisions, mentor engineers, and ensure delivery of high-quality, scalable, and reliable platform solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Job Requirements
Education Qualification:
B.Tech / BE in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication, or equivalent with 70% aggregate or CGPA of 7.0 and above.
Experience:
7+ years of experience in Windows Platform / Operating System development.
Skills (Technical & Behavioural Skills)
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, debug, review, and maintain Windows platform and OS components for Fiery products.
- Own critical platform modules end-to-end and act as the technical expert for Windows OS and platform-related development.
- Drive architecture and design discussions for complex system-level software solutions.
- Develop highly scalable, reliable, and high-performance software components.
- Analyze and optimize system performance, memory usage, and overall platform stability.
- Work closely with Product Management, QA, and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver quality software on schedule.
- Lead technical decision-making and provide solutions for complex platform and operating system challenges.
- Mentor junior engineers through technical guidance, code reviews, and engineering best practices.
- Ensure adherence to software development standards, coding guidelines, and quality processes.
- Create and maintain technical design documents and architecture documentation.
- Drive platform innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate effectively with global engineering teams and stakeholders.
Technical Skills:
- Strong programming expertise in C/C++.
- Extensive experience with Windows 10 and Windows 11 platform development.
- In-depth knowledge of Windows OS Internals, including Process Management, Memory Management, and I/O Management.
- Strong experience with Win32 APIs, WMI, and PowerShell scripting.
- Solid understanding of Windows Networking Stack and Windows Security architecture.
- Experience in Windows performance analysis, profiling, debugging, and optimization.
- Hands-on experience with Windows Services architecture and management.
- Good understanding of low-level firmware development and Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL).
- Knowledge of motherboard architecture, PCI devices, BIOS, UEFI boot process, and hardware interaction.
- Strong expertise in multi-threading, concurrency, synchronization, and system-level programming.
- Proven experience in software architecture, module ownership, and technical leadership.
- Strong debugging, root cause analysis, and code review skills.
- Experience with technical documentation and software design documentation.
- Exposure to AI-assisted development tools and leveraging AI in software engineering workflows.
- Experience in Windows Device Driver Development is an added advantage.

- Experience in the Printing or Imaging domain.
